For urban settings, adjust the sensitivity down so the loud speakers only activate when birds are very close, akin to not jumping from a distant car alarm.

The 115-foot infrared sensor works like a garage door safety sensor, triggered by birds up to 115 feet away. It has a 120-degree horizontal and 90-degree vertical coverage, with adjustable sensitivity (high = 100+ feet, low = 10 feet). This water-resistant device can be easily mounted on walls, trees, fences, or other outdoor surfaces.

An adjustable sonic/ultrasonic slider allows tuning the frequency from audible to human/bird, to inaudible ultrasonic. We recommend stopping about three-quarters of the way to the right to avoid annoying humans while still repelling birds.

For yards with lots of birds, the Continuous Sound mode may work better than Sensor mode to thin their numbers before switching back. To address birds in trees, garages, or barns, aim the device at their entry/landing points for best results.

The low frequency setting is audible, as birds hear similarly to humans. However, this device's versatile settings accommodate various situations - from urban-accustomed birds to noise-sensitive neighbors. Adjusting the sonic frequency slider can make the sound inaudible to humans while still effective for birds.

If the device is constantly emitting sound, double-check that the test button is off and the sensitivity isn't set too high. The audible noise can be reduced by moving the slider towards the right, though this makes the deterrent less effective for startling birds.
